Solaris ZFS

James Foronda posted a nice note about ZFS. His primary topic was silent data corruptions but the presentation he mentioned is quite a good overview (though, smells a bit of marketing but who knows - maybe it’s all true?). In my previous post I mentioned that I am installing RAC on Solaris under VMware - I didn’t mention I use ASM for storage. I think the next step should be ZFS then!

    Hi Alex,

Thanks for linking to one of my posts.

I’ve been monitoring where my traffic is coming from and I can see that some of them are coming from my redirected blogger.com site. Like you, I just did a redirect and so when people click on links like the one you did above, they are redirected to my site BUT not to the corresponding article.

So… if it is not too much trouble for you, can you please change the link above from:

    http://jforonda.blogspot.com/2006/06/silent-data-corruption.html

    to:

    http://jforonda.vintarinian.com/?p=4

I hope you don’t mind me putting this request in the comment area of your post. I wanted to email you personally about this but I could not find your email address.

    James

P.S. It looks like your tags above are not working. I get a 404 when I click on them.

Done James. Always good to keep the links accurate.
Thanks for noticing tags issue - Ultimate Tags Warrior didn’t handle permalinks for tags properly. Apparently, WP 2.0 changed rewrite feature and it’s now done within WP as opposed to .htaccess and not all plugins have been successful so far to adhere to it. Here is the workaround I found working for me.
